1 Corinthians 6:12

EXPOSITION
In this modern, fast-paced age, technology has become deeply woven into every aspect of our lives, making tasks easier and communication faster. While technology offers many benefits, it also presents serious challenges to our spiritual lives if not properly managed. Though we may have the freedom to use technology, Scripture reminds us that not everything permissible is beneficial (1 Corinthians 6:12).
Uncontrolled use of technology can gradually draw our hearts away from God. The constant flow of information, entertainment, and digital interaction can overwhelm the mind and reduce time for prayer, meditation, and the study of God’s Word. Social media often fuels comparison, dissatisfaction, and distraction, subtly weakening our spiritual focus.
The Word of God admonishes us not to conform to the pattern of this world but to be transformed through the renewal of our minds (Romans 12:2). This transformation requires deliberate and disciplined use of technology in ways that honour God and promote spiritual growth. As believers, we must regularly examine our digital habits and ensure they align with our faith. Technology should be a tool for edification—not a distraction or a hindrance to godliness.
PRAYER POINTS
Lord, grant me wisdom to use technology wisely and not allow it to distract me from Your divine purpose.
Renew my mind, O Lord, so that I may align with Your will and make technology a positive influence in my life.
Pray for increased power and the manifest presence of God in CAC Sophia Ajayi Region, in the life of our father, the Regional Superintendent, all officers, and members at every level, in Jesus’ name.
SUGGESTED HYMN FOR TODAY
CACGHB 816
Meter: 10.10.10.7 & Refrain
1.
Though the world allures with its gilded charm,
I’m a child of God; it can do no harm;
He upholds my life with His mighty arm
Every moment of my day.
Chorus:
I’ve a Friend who supplies my every need,
I’ve a home far beyond the starry sky;
And that blessed hope is the reason why
I keep singing Hallelujah!
2.
I can ne’er forget how upon the tree
Hung the Son of God, there to die for me;
Yet to save my soul, so it had to be—
There could be no other way.
3.
I will ever be true to my Lord and King,
Every waking hour His praises sing;
Knowing that at last He my soul will bring
Home to dwell with Him for aye.
Amen.
