TOPIC: GOD ABOVE ALL
MEMORY VERSE:
“For I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.” — Psalm 135:5
BIBLE READING: PSALM 95:1-6
O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving and make a joyful noise unto Him with psalms.
For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
In His hand are the deep places of the earth; the strength of the hills is His also.
The sea is His, for He made it, and His hands formed the dry land.
O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
MESSAGE:
When Moses and Aaron appeared before Pharaoh in Exodus 7:10, they demonstrated the greatness of the God who sent them. Aaron cast down his rod, and it became a serpent. Although the Egyptian magicians also performed a similar act, the superiority of God’s power became evident when Aaron’s serpent swallowed theirs. This clearly shows that no power can stand against the Almighty God. The devil may try to imitate God, but he can never equal Him because God reigns above all powers and authorities (1 Chronicles 29:11-12).
Many people may gain riches through questionable means, but true and lasting wealth comes only from God. According to Deuteronomy 8:18, it is God who gives the power to make wealth, and His blessings bring peace without sorrow (Proverbs 10:22).
Our God specializes in doing the impossible. He can lift a poor man from obscurity and place him among kings (1 Samuel 2:8). He delivered the Israelites from centuries of slavery overnight (Exodus 12:31-33) and sustained them throughout their forty years in the wilderness. He fed them with heavenly food, provided meat in abundance, and ensured that their clothes and shoes did not wear out (Psalm 78:24-25; Deuteronomy 29:5).
This same God is still able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). He owns the cattle upon a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and all the silver and gold belong to Him (Haggai 2:8). The whole earth and everything in it are His possession (Psalm 24:1). Truly, He is the God above all gods, the King of kings, and the Lord of lords (2 Chronicles 2:5; 1 Timothy 6:15).
Beloved, what a privilege it is to belong to such a mighty God. He has opened the treasures of His wisdom, grace, power, and goodness to His children. In return, He desires sincere worship, wholehearted love, and complete devotion. If you desire to enjoy His divine presence and experience His mighty power, ask Him today to give you a genuine heart of worship. God reveals Himself to those who worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24).
PRAYER POINT:
Father, thank You for making me Your child. Please give me a heart that will continually worship and honor You in all circumstances.
