TOPIC: DIVINE HEALTH

MEMORISE

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

— 3 John 2

BIBLE READING: Isaiah 55:10–11 (KJV)

10 “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

MESSAGE

Psalm 105:37 reveals that when the Israelites departed from Egypt, none among them was weak or feeble. Both the young and the old experienced divine strength and health. Those who had endured suffering and harsh treatment under slavery suddenly became healthy and strong after partaking in the Passover meal and preparing for their journey out of bondage. The same God who healed them and preserved them throughout forty years in the wilderness without swollen feet (Deuteronomy 8:4) is still able to grant His children divine health today.

No matter how long an illness has lasted or how severe it may appear, God has the power to heal completely. In John 5:5–9, Jesus healed a man who had been infirm for thirty-eight years simply by speaking a word. Psalm 107:20 also declares that God sent forth His word and healed them, delivering them from destruction.

Sickness and disease cannot withstand the authority and power of God’s Word. Whenever God speaks, His Word accomplishes its purpose. Just as rain and snow nourish the earth and make it fruitful, the Word of God brings results wherever it is sent.

In John 4:46–54, Jesus spoke from Cana, and the nobleman’s son was healed instantly in Capernaum. Distance could not limit the power of His Word. Likewise, in Matthew 8:5–13, the centurion’s servant received healing through a spoken word from Jesus. The daughter of the Syrophoenician woman also experienced instant deliverance when Jesus declared the word over her situation (Mark 7:24–30).

God still heals through His Word today. Whether spoken through His servants or read directly from the Scriptures, His Word carries the power to heal those who believe in faith.

Beloved, if there is any sickness in your body, know that God has already made provision for your healing through His Word. All you need to do is believe Him. Beyond receiving healing, however, God desires that His children continually walk in divine health, just as Apostle John expressed in today’s memory verse. Faith in God and His Word is the key to living in that reality.

May you enjoy divine health and freedom from every sickness, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

KEY POINT

Do not only trust God for healing; trust Him also for divine health.
