TOPIC: ASK, SEEK, AND KNOCK IN PRAYER

MEMORISE: "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." — Matthew 7:7

BIBLE READING: MATTHEW 7:7-8

7. “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

8. “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

EXHORTATION

Prayer is more than making requests to God occasionally; it is a continuous relationship and communion with Him. In today’s passage, Jesus reveals three important dimensions of prayer — asking, seeking, and knocking. Each stage draws believers into a deeper experience with God and His limitless power.

First, we are encouraged to ask. Asking requires faith and confidence in God’s promises. It is not a doubtful request but a sincere expectation that God hears and answers according to His will. God delights in blessing His children when they come before Him in faith.

Secondly, we are called to seek. Seeking involves diligently pursuing God’s presence, wisdom, and direction. It goes beyond surface-level prayers and develops a hunger to know God more intimately. Those who seek Him wholeheartedly will receive clarity, understanding, and divine guidance for every situation.

Lastly, we must knock. Knocking speaks of persistence, determination, and unwavering faith. It means refusing to give up despite delays or opposition. Persistent prayer opens doors, breaks barriers, and releases God’s supernatural intervention.

Beloved, ask with confidence, seek with sincerity, and knock with perseverance. God remains faithful to answer all who call upon Him in truth.

PRAYER POINTS

Father, please direct my steps in every area of my life as I trust completely in Your promises.

Lord, help me to seek Your wisdom daily and align my heart with Your perfect will.

Pray for all zonal offices and officers across the regions, that God will strengthen and guide them through the Holy Spirit.

SUGGESTED HYMN: CACGHB 571

1. Pray, always pray; the Holy Spirit pleads,

Within thee all thy daily, hourly needs.

2. Pray, always pray; beneath sin’s heavy load,

Prayer sees the blood from Jesus’ side that flowed.

3. Pray, always pray; though weary, faint, and lone,

Prayer rests beneath the Father’s sheltering throne.

4. Pray, always pray; amid the world’s turmoil,

Prayer keeps the heart at peace and strengthens for labour.

5. Pray, always pray; if joy fills all thy way,

Prayer lifts the heart in songs of praise each day.

6. Pray, always pray; when loved ones pass away,

Prayer drinks from everlasting springs that never fail.

7. All earthly things shall surely fade away,

But prayer lays hold on eternity — therefore, pray always.
