TOPIC: REVERSING SHAME

On the third day, there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.

Jesus and His disciples were also invited to the wedding.

When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”

Jesus replied, “Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.”

His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He tells you to do, do it.”

There were six stone waterpots there, used for the Jewish purification rites, each holding two or three firkins.

Jesus told them, “Fill the waterpots with water,” and they filled them to the brim.

Then He said, “Draw some out now and take it to the master of the feast.” And they did so.

When the master of the feast tasted the water that had been turned into wine, he did not know where it came from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. He then called the bridegroom

and said to him, “Everyone serves the best wine first, and after the guests have had plenty to drink, the cheaper wine. But you have kept the best wine until now.”

This was the first of the miracles Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee. Through it, He revealed His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.

MESSAGE

Some time ago, a woman came to the church deeply troubled. She explained that her husband would wander aimlessly at night, often losing control of his senses. We led her to Christ and prayed with her. Shortly afterward, she received a promotion at her workplace and was blessed with a new car.

Since she could not drive, she asked her husband to drive her to church so the pastor could bless the car. He agreed, but said he would only drive her to the church premises and remain in the car. While waiting outside, he could hear the sermon being preached. When the altar call was made, he eventually stepped into the church and surrendered his life to Christ.

A few weeks later, while driving to work, the enemy attacked him and he suddenly lost control of his senses, driving around aimlessly. However, the Holy Spirit intervened and directed him to drive to the church. When he arrived, people immediately noticed something was wrong and quickly assisted him into the church. Prayers were offered, and God took control of the situation.

God already knew that trouble was coming his way. If he had not given his life to Christ earlier, the situation could have led to permanent madness. God had already prepared a place of refuge for him before the crisis occurred. I pray that every plan of shame the enemy has arranged against you will be cancelled today, in Jesus’ name.

In today’s Bible reading, a couple was celebrating their wedding when an embarrassing situation arose—the wine finished during the feast. What could have brought great shame to the family was turned into honour when Jesus miraculously turned water into wine, providing more than enough for the celebration.

Beloved, the Bible says in Romans 10:11 that whoever believes in God will not be put to shame. If you are facing a situation that seems embarrassing or difficult, trust God and cry out to Him. He is able to turn every shameful circumstance into a testimony of His glory.

PRAYER POINT

Father, please do not allow me to experience shame in any area of my life, in Jesus’ name. 🙏
