TOPIC: GOD FUNDS ONLY WHAT HE HAS LAUNCHED (V)

MEMORISE

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

— 2 Corinthians 9:8

BIBLE READING:

2 Corinthians 9:7–11

Let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

As it is written: “He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.”

Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness,

while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.

EXPOSITION

Whenever God initiates a work, He takes full responsibility not only for its commencement but also for its sustenance and successful completion. His grace continually abounds toward those who are committed to the assignments He has launched. This assures us that God will not merely provide what is necessary but will supply in abundance so that His purpose can be fully accomplished.

The Apostle Paul reminds the Corinthians that God’s provision is more than enough for every good work. As paraphrased in The Living Bible, God gives us everything we need—and even more—so that we will have enough for ourselves and still have plenty to joyfully give to others (2 Corinthians 9:8). This divine provision goes beyond money or material resources; it includes wisdom, strength, favour, grace, and all that is required to fulfil God’s will.

God’s ability to supply knows no limits. Whenever He commissions a mission, He also equips His people adequately to carry it out. Therefore, trust confidently that whatever God has called you to do, He will provide all the resources needed. Though challenges may arise, be assured that if God has launched the work, His supply will never run dry.

PRAYER POINTS

Lord, I trust in Your abundant grace to supply every need in the tasks You have entrusted to me.

Lord, sustain me in all things so that Your name may be glorified.

Lord, help us to serve You selflessly, both for Your immediate purpose and Your eternal glory.

SUGGESTED HYMN FOR TODAY

CACGHB 893

(6.6.6.6.8.8)

1. Christ is our Cornerstone,

On Him alone we build;

With His true saints alone

The courts of heaven are filled.

On His great love

Our hopes we place,

Of present grace

And joys above.

2. Oh, then with hymns of praise

These hallowed courts shall ring;

Our voices we will raise,

The Three in One to sing.

And thus proclaim

In joyful song,

Both loud and long,

That glorious Name.

3. Here, gracious God, do Thou

Forevermore draw nigh;

Accept each faithful vow,

And mark each suppliant sigh.

In copious shower,

On all who pray

Each holy day,

Thy blessing pour.

4. Here may we gain from heaven

The grace for which we plead;

And may that grace once given

Abide with us indeed.

Until that day

When all the blest

To endless rest

Are called away.

Amen.
