Message
Renowned landscape designer Piet Oudolf believes that beauty is not limited to flowers in full bloom. Even during winter, when plants appear lifeless and dormant, he sees remarkable beauty in them. While many people admire colorful blossoms, Oudolf appreciates every stage of a plant’s life cycle, finding value and character even in what others may overlook.
This perspective beautifully reflects God's love for humanity. Long before we became worthy, while we were still trapped in sin and spiritually powerless, God loved us deeply. As the Apostle Paul explains, “At just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly” (Romans 5:6). He further emphasizes God's unconditional love by declaring, “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
Jesus consistently demonstrated this love throughout His earthly ministry. He called imperfect people to follow Him, shared meals with sinners, welcomed outcasts, and extended grace to those rejected by society. He saw beyond people's failures and recognized the value God had placed within them.
In the same way, God sees beauty and potential in us even when we feel broken, weak, or unworthy. Through His saving grace, He transforms our lives and enables us to flourish spiritually. Once dead in sin, we are now alive in Christ, reflecting His love and beauty to a world searching for hope.
No matter what season of life you are experiencing, remember that God's love remains constant. Rooted in His grace, you can bloom again and become a living testimony of His transforming power.

Reflect & Pray
During what season of your life did God call you to Himself?
How can you allow His love to shine through you so that others may see His image in your life?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me when I was lost in sin. Thank You for Your grace that gives me new life and helps me grow in You. Let my life reflect Your beauty and love to everyone around me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Insight for Today
In Romans 5:6-10, Paul uses several words to describe humanity's condition apart from God: powerless, ungodly, sinners, and enemies. These terms reveal our spiritual helplessness and separation from Him. Yet in the midst of this bleak picture shines the wonderful truth of God's love.
Rather than abandoning us, God demonstrated His mercy through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. His death on the cross provided reconciliation and new life for all who believe. Because of God's grace, we are no longer defined by our past failures but by our new identity in Christ. As recipients of His love, we are called to display His beauty, compassion, and hope to those around us.
