Memory Verse
"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come."
— 2 Timothy 3:1 (NKJV)
Bible Text
2 Timothy 3:1–7
This passage highlights the characteristics of the last days and warns believers to remain vigilant, spiritually alert, and firmly rooted in God's truth.
Lesson Introduction
The events unfolding across the world today clearly indicate that we are living in the end times. Moral decline, spiritual deception, and increasing ungodliness are all signs foretold in Scripture.
As believers, we must not be caught unaware. Instead, we should prepare ourselves spiritually and take proactive steps to remain steadfast in our faith. God has given us His Word and His Spirit to guide us through these challenging times.
Lesson Aim
To help members understand the importance of preparing spiritually for the challenges of the last days.
Teaching Objectives
At the end of this lesson, members should be able to:
Understand the signs and characteristics of the times in which we live.
Identify practical ways to prepare for the return of Christ.
Text Review: 2 Timothy 3:1–7
The Apostle Paul warned that:
Perilous times would come in the last days.
Many people would abandon godly values.
Temptations and distractions would increase.
False teachers and deceptive doctrines would become widespread.
Some people would appear religious outwardly but deny God's power.
Believers must therefore remain watchful and discerning.
LESSON OUTLINE ONE
UNDERSTANDING THE TIMES
As Christians, we are called to be spiritually alert and discerning, just like the children of Issachar, who understood the times and knew what Israel ought to do.
Characteristics of the Last Days
According to 2 Timothy 3:1–4, people will become:
Lovers of themselves.
Lovers of money and material possessions.
Boastful, proud, and arrogant.
Abusive and disrespectful.
Disobedient to parents.
Ungrateful and unholy.
Without love and compassion.
Unforgiving and slanderous.
Lacking self-control.
Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.
These signs remind us that Christ's return is drawing nearer, and believers must remain faithful.
LESSON OUTLINE TWO
PREPARE AHEAD
The Psalmist declared:
"I will lift up my eyes to the hills—from whence comes my help?"
— Psalm 121:1
In preparation for the challenges of these last days, believers must continually depend on God. The Bible contains all the guidance we need for victorious Christian living.

Summary
My child, if sinners entice you, do not consent to their ways. Remain steadfast in your faith because the return of Jesus Christ is certain.
Conclusion
Believers should not live in fear or anxiety because of the perilous times around us. Instead, we should remain vigilant, trust in God's power, and focus on His promises.
Although no one knows the exact day or hour of Christ's return except the Father, His coming will be sudden. Therefore, we must live in constant readiness, avoiding distractions and worldly influences that could draw us away from God.
