THEME: Embrace His Word
MEMORY VERSE
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
— Hebrews 4:12
BIBLE READING
Genesis 1:1–5
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
MESSAGE
Before the first dawn recorded in Genesis 1:1, God already existed. Scripture declares that in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, revealing that He existed before time itself. John 1:1 confirms this truth: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” God initiated creation—and the beginning itself—through His Word.
This same Word has already framed this new year and everything that will unfold in it. Therefore, if you desire to walk in victory and exercise dominion this year, you must give careful attention to the Word of God.
Jesus said, “Have faith in God… whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed… and shall not doubt in his heart… he shall have whatsoever he saith” (Mark 11:22–23). Faith gives authority to our words, but Scripture teaches that faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). The measure of God’s Word you store in your heart will determine how strong your faith becomes when you confront life’s mountains.
When the Word of God fills your heart daily, you will not struggle to speak with authority. In moments of challenge, faith-filled words will flow naturally from you, and mountains will give way.
The Bible says, “He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” (Psalm 107:20). There are sicknesses medical science cannot cure and situations human wisdom cannot resolve. Yet, just as advanced technology like laser surgery penetrates places unreachable by traditional tools, God’s Word penetrates the deepest and most difficult areas of our lives. When the Word enters, light comes, and darkness disappears (Psalm 119:130).
Beloved, make a conscious decision to embrace God’s Word more than ever this year. Study it, meditate on it, and declare it consistently. As you make God’s Word your daily companion, I decree that you will experience victory on every side this year, in Jesus’ name.

HYMN 3: ANCIENT WORDS
Holy words long preserved
For our walk in this world,
They resound with God’s own heart;
Oh, let the ancient words impart.
Chorus:
Ancient words ever true,
Changing me and changing you;
We have come with open hearts,
Oh, let the ancient words impart.
Words of life, words of hope,
Give us strength, help us cope;
In this world, where’er we roam,
Ancient words will guide us home.
Holy words of our faith,
Handed down to this age,
Came to us through sacrifice;
Oh, heed the faithful words of Christ.
