MEMORY VERSE

“Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.”

(Ephesians 4:31)


BIBLE READING: Acts 20:24

“But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”


EXPOSITION

Apostle Paul, in his counsel to Timothy, highlights the necessity of releasing anything that distracts or drags a believer backward (2 Timothy 2:4). He similarly admonished the Ephesian believers to let go of bitterness, offences, and resentment, as these attitudes hinder progress, block divine opportunities, and stunt spiritual growth (Ephesians 4:31). Instead, believers are encouraged to forget past failures and press forward with focus and determination (Philippians 3:13).

To move forward effectively, one must pursue God’s divine purpose, which lies at the heart of salvation. Purpose gives meaning to life and must take precedence over every other pursuit. Believers are therefore urged to press on with wholehearted commitment in order to successfully fulfill their kingdom assignments (Acts 20:24).

While diligence and hard work are required to attain economic and career goals, holy living remains essential for a life approved by God. In a world polluted by sin, believers must consciously separate themselves from all forms of moral impurity and strive toward perfect holiness in the fear of God (2 Corinthians 7:1).

Lord, deliver me from every bitter memory of my past.

I receive total healing from every hidden pain that has held me captive.

Pray for the CAC Youth Fellowship, its Director, and members, as led by the Spirit of God.
