LESSON EIGHT (08)
TOPIC: WEAPONS OF WORSHIP 1: WORSHIPING WITH OUR WHOLE LIFE
BIBLE TEXT: Mark 12:30-31
[30]And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
[31]And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
MEMORY VERSE: ROMANS 12:1, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service".
LESSON AIM: The teens will understand that worship is more than singing, it is honoring God in every part of life.
INTRODUCTION: Worshipping God with your life means giving God your all, including your actions, words, and attitudes. Worship is more than just singing songs or attending church, it is a way of life. True worship involves honoring God in everything we do, whether in our thoughts, words, actions, or daily routines. Worship is not limited to a specific place or time but is a continuous act of devotion, obedience, and gratitude.
STUDY GUIDE:
A. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO WORSHIP GOD WITH YOUR WHOLE LIFE?
1. Worshipping God with your whole life means living in a way that continually points back to Him.
2. It's a lifestyle of faith, love, and devotion in everything you do.
3. It also means dedicating every aspect of your being, your thoughts, actions, words, and choices to honoring and glorifying Him.
4. We worship God our whole lives, as an opportunity to glorify Him.
5.We are called to live in a way that honors God and reflects His goodness.
6. True worship is what we say or do in church and how we live every day.
B. HOW TO WORSHIP GOD WITH YOUR WHOLE LIFE?
1. Present your body as a living sacrifice. (Rom. 12:1)
2. Loving God fully. (Mark 12:30)
3. Obedience to his word. (John 14:15)
4. Trusting him completely. (Prov.3:5-6)
5. Using his gifts for his glory. (Rom.12:1)
6. Pray always. (1 Thess.5:17)
C. BENEFITS OF WORSHIPING GOD WITH YOUR WHOLE LIFE
1. It brings about answered prayers. (1 John 5:14-15)
2. It gives you direction and clarity. (Ps. 32:8)
3. It makes you a vessel unto honor. (2 Tim.2:21)
4. You become a carrier of God's presence. (2 Corinth. 3:18)
5. You become a friend of God. (John 15:14)
CONCLUSION: Worshiping God with your whole life makes you a friend of God. It also brings you closer to him. It brings about answered prayers. It makes your life worthy of praise and emulation.
LIFE APPLICATION:
1. Start Your Day with God: Before reaching for your phone, pray or read a verse to set your focus on Him.
2. Honor God in School and at Home: Be respectful to teachers and parents as a way of honoring God with your effort.
3. Watch Your Words: Speak life and truth. Avoid gossip, lies, or anything that tears others down.
4. Use Your Gifts for God: Whether you play sports, sing, draw, or write use it to reflect God's glory.
5. Be a Light in Friendships: Choose kindness. Forgive quickly. Include the outsider.
6. Stand for What's Right: Live with integrity even when it's hard or unpopular.
7. Give God Your Time: Attend church and volunteer to serve others.
8. Guard Your Mind: Be careful with what you watch, listen to, and post online. Choose content that builds you up spiritually.
PRAYER/AFFIRMATION: Lord Jesus, help me to worship you with the whole of my life.
