TOPIC: WHAT IS WORSHIP?

SUNDAY SCHOOL HYMN

1. O Sunday School, on the Lord's day,

I am happy, it makes me glad

To rejoice at Thy birth.

BIBLE TEXT: JOHN 4:23-24

[23]But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

[24]God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

MEMORY VERSE: JOHN 4:24, "God is a Spirits and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth".

LESSON AIM: The Students will understand what worship is, explain the ways to worship, and Highlight the benefits of worship.

INTRODUCTION: Worship is a fundamental aspect of the Christian faith, expressing reverence, love, and adoration for God. The word worship comes from the old English term "worth-ship". which means to give worth or honor to someone or something. Worship is honoring, loving, and adoring God with our whole hearts. It is more than just singing, it is a lifestyle that puts God first in everything.

STUDY GUIDE:

A. WHAT IS WORSHIP?

Worship is the expression of love, devotion, and submission to God, a lifestyle that reflects our relationship with God. It is also about recognizing and declaring God's goodness and greatness. True worship is not just external actions but comes from the heart, led by the Holy Spirit.

B. WAYS TO WORSHIP

1. Praise and singing. Ps. 100:2

2. Prayer and Thanksgiving. Phill.4:6

3. Reading and meditating. Ps. 119:105

4. Obedience and holy living. Rom. 12:1

5. Service and giving. Heb.13:16

C. BENEFITS OF WORSHIP

1. It brings os closer to God. Psalm 17:3

2. It helps us grow spiritually. Col. 3:16

3. It brings peace and Joy. Neh.8.10

4. It gives us a deeper understanding of whe God is.

5. Worship helps us to overcome fear and anxiety. Phill 4-6-7

6. Worship brings deliverance and breakthrough. Acts 16:25-26

CONCLUSION: Worship is not just a duty. It is a powerful way to experience God's presence.
