LESSON AIM & OBJECTIVES: To understand the creative nature of God and discover our God given talent. Through the lesson, students should be able to:

1. Explain the concept of creativity.

2. Explore the various creative gifts and talents given to us by God

INTRODUCTION: Creativity is a gift from God, bestowed upon humanity to express beauty, truth, and the divine. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The act of creation reveals God's infinite creativity and power, laying the foundation for all creative expression. Genesis 1:1-2 In Exodus 31:1-6, God filled Bezalel and Oholiab with the Spirit of God, wisdom, and understanding to create artistic designs for the tabernacle. There is always a divine inspiration behind human creativity.

A GOD, OUR CREATIVE CREATOR.

i. God is the ultimate creative Creator. He spoke the world into existence, forming galaxies, planets, and every living creature with His divine creativity.

ii. In the book of Genesis, we see the unfolding of God's creative power as He brings order out of chaos, light out of darkness, and life out of nothingness.

iii. Through His creativity, God reveals His character and attributes. His wisdom is displayed in the intricate design of the natural world, from the delicate structure of a flower to the vastness of the universe.

iv. His beauty is reflected in the diversity of landscapes, colors, and creatures that He has made.

v. His love is expressed in the care and provision He provides for His creation. Genesis 1:1-2, Genesis 1:3-31, Psalm 19:1.

vi. As beings created in God's image, we are called to reflect His creativity in our own lives. Whether through art, music, literature, science, or any other form of expression, we have the privilege of participating in God's ongoing work of creation.

vii. Our creativity is a gift from God, to be used for His glory and the benefit of others. Gen. 1:2

B. CREATIVE GIFTS AND TALENTS

The Bible teaches that God has endowed each person with unique gifts, talents, and abilities, which are to be used for His glory and the benefit of others. Romans 12:6-8.

Here are some gifts and abilities that are often associated with creativity:

i. Artistic Talent: This includes skills in visual arts such as painting, drawing, sculpting, and graphic design. Artists use their creativity to express emotions, ideas, and spiritual truths through their artwork.

ii. Musical Ability: This encompasses skills in playing musical instruments, composing music and singing. Musicians use their creativity to write melodies, harmonies, and lyrics that inspire and uplift listeners.

iii. Writing and Storytelling: Writers, poets, and storytellers use their gift of words to craft narratives, poems, and literature that entertain, educate, and inspire.

iv. Innovative Thinking This involves the ability to generate new ideas, solve problems, and think outside the box.

v. Design Skills: Designers have the ability to create visually appealing and functional designs in various fields such as fashion, interior design, architecture, and web design.

vi. Craftsmanship: Crafters and artisans create handmade objects using materials such as wood, metal, fabric, and clay.

vii. Photography: Photographers use their creativity to capture moments, scenes, and emotions through the lens of a camera.

viii. Cooking and Culinary Arts: Chefs and cooks use their creativity to create delicious and visually appealing dishes.

SUMMARY: While creativity itself may not be explicitly listed as a spiritual gift, these gifts and abilities given by God can be expressed and utilized in creative ways to glorify God and serve others. Ultimately, all creative talents and abilities come from God and should be used for His purposes and kingdom.
