Message

Many people grow up with great dreams and aspirations for their future. However, as life's challenges arise and circumstances seem contrary to those dreams, some begin to lose hope and eventually abandon them. When reminded of their former aspirations, they often respond by saying, "Reality has set in."

Beloved, your reality is not determined by your present circumstances but by your faith in God and your willingness to keep moving forward. Dreams only die when they are abandoned. As long as you continue to trust God, work diligently, and remain focused on your purpose, your dreams can still become a reality.

Joseph's life is a powerful example of perseverance and divine fulfilment. God showed him a glorious future through dreams, but the path to that destiny was filled with betrayal, slavery, false accusations, and imprisonment. His brothers attempted to destroy his dreams, and Potiphar's wife tried to ruin his life, yet God preserved him through every trial.

While in prison, Joseph could have surrendered to despair and concluded that his dreams would never come to pass. Instead, he continued to develop himself, sharpen his gift of interpreting dreams, and build leadership and administrative skills. When Pharaoh eventually called for him, Joseph was prepared for the opportunity that would change his life forever.

His story teaches us an important lesson: dreams require preparation. A vision without preparation often leads to missed opportunities. Joseph's ability to not only interpret Pharaoh's dream but also provide practical solutions positioned him for promotion from prison to the palace.

As children of God, we must do more than dream. We must cultivate the skills, knowledge, discipline, and character required to sustain the fulfilment of those dreams. God-given gifts create opportunities, but preparation equips us to maximize them.

Proverbs 18:16 reminds us that our gifts can open doors before great people. However, it is our readiness and competence that help us remain there. When divine opportunity meets diligent preparation, destiny is fulfilled.

Do not despise your season of preparation. Every challenge, delay, and lesson is shaping your character and equipping you for the future God has prepared for you. I pray that when your moment of promotion arrives, you will be fully prepared to embrace it, in Jesus' name.

Key Point

Your dreams can become reality when you keep your faith in God and continue working diligently toward them.

Bible in One Year

Psalms 18–21

Prayer

Father, help me to remain steadfast in faith and diligent in preparation. Give me the wisdom, discipline, and perseverance to pursue the dreams You have placed in my heart until they become a reality, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Hymn 28: Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah

Verse 1 Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah, Pilgrim through this barren land; I am weak, but Thou art mighty, Hold me with Thy powerful hand. Bread of Heaven, Bread of Heaven, Feed me now and evermore; Feed me now and evermore.

Verse 2 Open now the crystal fountain, Whence the healing stream doth flow; Let the fiery, cloudy pillar Lead me all my journey through. Strong Deliverer, Strong Deliverer, Be Thou still my Strength and Shield; Be Thou still my Strength and Shield.

Verse 3 When I tread the verge of Jordan, Bid my anxious fears subside; Bear me through the swelling current, Land me safe on Canaan's side. Songs of praises, Songs of praises, I will ever give to Thee; I will ever give to Thee.

Verse 4 Saviour, come! We long to see Thee, Long to dwell with Thee above; And to know in full communion All the sweetness of Thy love. Come, Lord Jesus! Come, Lord Jesus! Take Thy waiting people home; Take Thy waiting people home.
