TOPIC: LET THERE BE LIGHT

MEMORISE: “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”

— Genesis 1:3

BIBLE READING: ACTS 3:1–8 (KJV)

Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer. At the gate called Beautiful lay a man who had been lame from birth, carried there daily to beg for alms. When he saw Peter and John, he asked for help. Fixing their gaze on him, Peter said, “Look at us.” Expecting to receive something, the man listened attentively. Then Peter declared, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” Taking him by the right hand, Peter lifted him up, and immediately the man’s feet and ankle bones were strengthened. He leapt up, stood, walked, and entered the temple with them, walking, leaping, and praising God.

MESSAGE:

When God declared, “Let there be light,” it revealed that darkness had existed before then. Light represents the end of sorrow and the beginning of joy. As the Scripture says in Psalm 30:5, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Wherever light appears, sorrow gives way to joy, confusion turns into clarity, and stagnation is replaced with progress.

Imagine driving on a dark road when suddenly your car’s headlights stop working. Continuing the journey in such darkness would be dangerous, so the safest option is to stop. Darkness often brings stagnation because movement without light is risky. However, once the fault is fixed and the lights come back on, the journey can continue. In the same way, whenever light is restored, progress resumes. I pray that the light of God will shine upon your life this year, bringing an end to every form of stagnation. You will experience joy and advancement in Jesus’ name.

In today’s Bible reading, we encounter a man who had been lame from birth. For many years, he was carried daily to the same spot to beg for alms—his life marked by limitation and stagnation. However, when God visited him through Peter and John, his story changed completely. He did not just begin to walk; he leapt, rejoiced, and praised God. The light of God shone upon his life, producing a dramatic turnaround.

The Bible teaches that people sleep at night, which is why Apostle Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 5:7 that those who sleep do so at night. Sleep represents inactivity and stillness. But when morning comes, light breaks forth, and people rise to pursue their daily tasks. Likewise, when God’s light shines, stagnation ends and progress begins. Beloved, I pray that the light of God will illuminate every area of your life. There shall be no stagnation for you; throughout this year, you will move forward and upward, in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please let Your light shine upon every area of my life this year, in Jesus’ name.
