CALLED TO INHERIT ALL THINGS

“In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of Him who works all things after the counsel of His own will.”

— Ephesians 1:11

God’s divine plan in Christ goes far beyond rescuing us from sin; it was designed to usher us into our inheritance—an inheritance founded on the blessing of Abraham. Scripture declares that we are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). This means that everything Christ possesses belongs to us in the same measure and reality.

So, what exactly does Christ own? What is the scope of His inheritance? The Bible clearly tells us that the entire world and all it contains belong to Him: “The earth is the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein” (Psalm 24:1). In Ephesians 3:8 (AMPC), the Apostle Paul further unveils the immeasurable extent of Christ’s riches, describing them as unending, boundless, unfathomable, and beyond human calculation.

This is the magnitude of your inheritance in Christ. Because you are one with Him, you possess what He possesses. This is not a promise reserved for the future—Scripture states plainly that you have already obtained an inheritance. It is a present reality. Through Christ, you now have access to all that belongs to the Father: wisdom, wealth, peace, authority, and glory.

Furthermore, Ephesians 1:14 identifies the Holy Spirit as the earnest—the guarantee or down payment—of our inheritance. His presence in your life is proof that everything God has given Christ also belongs to you. This truth aligns with Paul’s bold declaration in 1 Corinthians 3:21–22: “All things are yours… whether the world or life or death or things present or things to come; all are yours.”

Therefore, refuse to think small or see yourself as limited or disadvantaged. You are chosen, predestined, and divinely positioned for greatness. Let your thoughts, words, and lifestyle reflect the consciousness of your inheritance in Christ. As the Scripture affirms, “His divine power has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3).

CONFESSION

I have obtained an inheritance in Christ; all things are mine. The blessing of Abraham is at work in me. I walk in dominion, fruitfulness, and divine favour. I live daily in the reality of my inheritance in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY

Romans 8:16–17

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God; and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.

Galatians 4:7

Therefore you are no longer a servant but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Ephesians 1:11–14

In Him also we have obtained an inheritance… sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance.

1 Corinthians 3:21–22 (NIV)

So then, no more boasting about human leaders! All things are yours… the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours.
