MEMORISE

“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort.”

Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.

O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.

Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.

MESSAGE

Today’s memory verse reveals an important truth about God—He is the Father of mercies. This means He is not only merciful; He is the very source from which mercy flows. Scripture tells us that God is rich in mercy (Ephesians 2:4), and His mercies are renewed every morning (Lamentations 3:22–23). This shows that His mercy is unlimited and ever-available.

God’s mercy has the power to transform every area of a believer’s life that needs change. Whether it is health challenges, financial difficulties, or lost opportunities, the mercy of God can bring divine turnaround. His mercy is not partial or one-dimensional; it is perfect, rich, and multi-faceted. When the Father of mercies intervenes in a person’s life, He can restore what was lost and make all things new.

The Bible says:

“For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.” (Romans 9:15–16)

Although God’s mercies are unlimited, they are not automatically accessible to everyone. God Himself decides whom He shows mercy. Before a person can fully experience His abundant mercies, such a person must acknowledge God as Father. As the Father of mercies, He releases His deepest and richest mercies to His children. While He shows general kindness to all—making the sun shine on both the good and the bad (Matthew 5:45)—certain dimensions of His mercy are reserved exclusively for His children.

Only those who belong to God can enjoy the fullness of His mercies; others may only experience a small portion. To unbelievers, God is a consuming fire, but to His children, He is gracious, compassionate, and slow to anger (Psalm 145:8).

Beloved, if you are not yet born again, do not delay any longer. Run into the loving arms of the Father of mercies. He alone can give you a meaningful and fulfilled life here on earth and secure your place in His eternal kingdom. If you are already His child, remain obedient to His will, and you will continually enjoy His abundant and tender mercies.

PRAYER POINT

Father, please help me to experience Your tender and manifold mercies in every area of my life.
