TOPIC: WORSHIP GOD THE SON

SUNDAY SCHOOL HYMN

BIBLE TEXT: Colossians 1:15-17

[15]Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

[16]For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

[17]And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

MEMORY VERSE: JOHN 14:6; Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me" 

LESSON AIM: The students will recognize Jesus' role in salvation and understand why He deserves their worship 

INTRODUCTION: Worshipping God the Son is worshipping Jesus Christ, who is considered the Son of God. Worshiping Jesus is based on the belief that He is divine and supreme. It is more than just a religious activity. It is a heartfelt response to His love, grace, and salvation. .

STUDY GUIDE 

A. WHY JESUS DESERVES YOUR WORSHIP? 

1. Jesus deserves our worship because he is the Saviour of the world. (John 3:16) 

2. He is the only way to God. (John 14:6) 

3. He defeated death and gave eternal life. (John 11:25) 

4. He is worthy of worship in heaven and on earth. (Rev. 5:12.) 

B. RECOGNIZE JESUS' ROLE IN SALVATION 

1. He is our redeemer who paid the price for our sins. (Eph.1:7) 

2. He is the mediator between God and humanity. (1 Tim.2:5) 

3. He is our advocate and intercessor. (Heb. 7:25, 1 John 2:1) 

4. He is the risen Lord who defeated death. (John 11:25)

5. He is the giver of eternal life. (Rom. 6:23.) 

C. HOW TO WORSHIP JESUS? 

1. In Spirit and Truth. (John 4:23-24) 

2. Through prayer and Thanksgiving. (Phill.4:6) 

3. Through praise and singing. (Ps.95:1-2.) 

4. Through acts of love and service. (Heb.13:16) 

5. By living a holy and obedient life. (Rom. 12:1, John 14:15) 

CONCLUSION: Worshiping God the Son is showing reverence to Jesus for paying the price for our sins. It involves living a holy and obedient life and demonstrating acts of love and service. 

QUESTIONS 

1. Who is Jesus to you personally? 

2. What does it mean to say "Jesus is Lord"? 

3. How can your life be an act of worship to Jesus? 

4. Is there an area where you're not fully obeying Him? 

5. What would change in your life if you truly worshiped Jesus every day? 

PRAYER/AFFIRMATION: Dear Jesus, I accept you as my Personal Lord and Savior. Come into my life and empower me to sin no more.
