OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TEENS
DATE: Wednesday, 7th January, 2026
THEME: Trust in God
AUTHOR: Pastor E. A. Adeboye
MEMORISE
Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.
— Psalm 37:5
BIBLE READING: Jeremiah 17:7–8
7 Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD.
8 He shall be like a tree planted by the waters, spreading out its roots by the river. It will not fear when heat comes; its leaves will remain green. In a year of drought, it will not worry, nor will it stop bearing fruit.
MESSAGE
Many teenagers have experienced disappointment from people they trusted, and this has left them hurt and confused. Often, this happens because we forget that human beings are limited and can fail, no matter how good their intentions may be. God, however, never fails and never disappoints.
This is why you must learn to place your complete trust in God rather than in people. Your parents, friends, teachers, and even pastors are human and may let you down sometimes. Instead of trusting people absolutely, trust God to guide and help you through them.
God desires that you trust Him in every area of your life. He is unlimited in power and always ready to help you, especially in difficult situations. Trusting God means depending on Him fully and believing that He knows what is best for you.
Dear child, when God sees that you truly trust Him, He steps in to handle your challenges. When you feel weak, confused, or helpless, draw your strength from God. Commit your plans and decisions into His hands, ask for His help, and be confident that He will come through for you.
KEY POINT
When God sees that you trust Him, He will help you overcome every challenge that comes your way.
