TOPIC: YOUR LIGHT MUST SHINE
“You are the light of the world… Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
— Matthew 5:14, 16
Light gives clarity, direction, and understanding. It does not debate with darkness—it simply shines, and darkness disappears. As a child of God, you are the light of the world. This means that wherever you go, your presence brings illumination, guidance, and truth.
Your life as a Christian is designed to expose deception, inspire hope, and point others to the path of righteousness. God desires that His glory in you radiates through every aspect of your daily life—your words, your conduct, your love walk, and your witness. Through you, His life and righteousness must be clearly seen.
Consider again the powerful words of Jesus:
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do men light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men…” (Matthew 5:14–16).
Refuse to live as a hidden believer. Let your faith be visible. Let compassion guide your actions. Allow your words, lifestyle, and perspective to reflect your convictions about Christ and His glorious Gospel. Even those who may never open a Bible should be able to read Christ through you, for you are His living epistle (2 Corinthians 3:3). You are the radiant expression of His glory.
Therefore, light up your world—your environment, your community, and the lives around you—with the life and light of Christ within you. Isaiah 60:1 declares, “Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.” This is not a suggestion; it is a divine mandate. God has made you both a burning and a shining light. Go forth and illuminate your world with the Gospel of His truth, righteousness, and grace. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank You for making me the light of the world. Today, I shine brightly in my world, illuminating lives with Your love, truth, and grace. Through me, many are drawn to Christ, and Your name is glorified always. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
