THE TRUE MESSAGE OF THE GOSPEL

“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

— Romans 6:4

From time to time, I ask Christians an important question: “Where does Christianity truly begin?” Many people struggle to answer, often assuming it began at the Cross when Jesus was crucified. However, this is not entirely correct. Christianity actually began with the resurrection of Jesus Christ and was made effective through the coming of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost. The authentic message of salvation is rooted in Christ’s resurrection.

Understanding this truth helps you determine whether you are living genuine Christianity or merely practising a form of religious tradition. Before Jesus died, no one could receive eternal life. His death dealt with the problem of sin—it paid the price for the sins of the whole world. When Jesus died, the sin debt of humanity was fully settled.

Scripture teaches that God required one perfect and complete sacrifice for sin. The continual sacrifices of bulls and goats offered by priests year after year could never remove sin. Hebrews 10:11–14 explains that while priests repeatedly offered sacrifices that could not take away sin, Jesus offered Himself once and for all. By that single offering, He perfected forever those who are sanctified.

Yet, the payment for sin alone was not God’s ultimate plan. God desired something far greater for us—a sinless, victorious life. This became possible through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. When Jesus died, we died with Him. When He was buried, we were buried with Him. And when He rose from the dead, we were raised together with Him.

At His resurrection, Jesus was declared begotten of God—born again as the firstborn from the dead. Acts 13:33 declares, “Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.” Revelation 1:5 calls Him the “first begotten of the dead,” indicating that many others would follow. As He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). Romans 6:4 reminds us that just as Christ was raised by the glory of the Father, we too are to walk in newness of life.

We are products of His resurrection. When you were born again, you received a brand-new life—the resurrection life of Christ. This is the true message of salvation. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank You for the resurrection of Jesus Christ, through which I received eternal life. I am a product of His resurrection, born into a new life of righteousness, victory, and dominion. I walk in the consciousness of this truth, aware of the divine life and nature at work in me. I live above sin, sickness, defeat, and the systems of this world. Hallelujah!

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Hebrews 10:11–14 (NIV):

Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God. For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.
