LESSON SEVEN (07)

TOPIC: TRUE WORSHIPPER  

BIBLE TEXT: John 4:23-24

[23]But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

[24]God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Romans 12:1

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

MEMORY VERSE: JOHN 4:23, "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him". 

LESSON AIM: The Teens will explore what it means to truly worship God with their hearts, minds, and actions. 

INTRODUCTION: Worship is not just about singing, kneeling, or raising hands in a church service; it is a lifestyle of reverence, obedience, and love for God. A true worshipper acknowledges God's sovereignty and surrenders completely to His will. They do not worship out of obligation or routine but out of a deep and personal relationship with God. Their worship is sincere, flowing from a heart that longs for His presence. They do not seek recognition or approval from people but worship God with humility and gratitude. In the life of a true worshipper, God is not just a part of their life; He is the center. Their devotion is reflected in their choices, their character, and their love for others. Worship is more than a song; it is the way they live. 

STUDY GUIDE 

A. WHO IS A TRUE WORSHIPPER? 

1. True worshippers worship in Spirit and truth. (John 4:23-24) 

2. God wants hearts close to Him, not just lips. (Matthew 15:8-9) 

3. Offer your life as an act of true worship. (Romans 12:1) 

4. True worshippers have clean hands and pure hearts. (Psalm 24:3-4) 

5. Worship God with reverence and awe. (Hebrews 12:28) 

B. HOW TO BECOME A TRUE WORSHIPER 

1. Be born again. (John 3:3) 

2. Being a consecrated vessel. (2 Tim.2:21) 

3. Have a pure heart. (Matt.5:3) 

4. Studying God's word. (Joshua 1:8) 

5. Praying always. (1 Thess. 5:16-17) 

6. Living a holy life. (1 Pet. 15-16).

C. LIFESTYLE OF A TRUE WORSHIPPER 

1. A true worshiper must exhibit the fruits of the Spirit. (Gal. 5:22-23) 

2. A true worshiper must reflect Christ in what he/she does. (2 Corinth. 3:3) 

3. A true worshiper must always seek to dwell in God's presence always. (Ps. 84:1-2,4) 

4. A true worshiper must have an understanding of God's word. (Ps.119:130) 

5. A true worshiper must pray at all times. (Eph.6:18) 

6. A true worshiper must seek to do the will of the Father always. (John 5:30) 

7. A true worshiper is a soul winner. (Prov. 11:30, Matt.28:19) 

8. A true worshiper must avoid any form of sin. (Rom.6:12) 

9. A true worshiper is a lover of God. (Rom.8:28) 

CONCLUSION: A true worshiper is someone who worships God in Spirit and in truth. A true worshiper is someone who walks in obedience to God's word. A true worshiper is someone who has a sincere and intimate relationship with God.
