MESSAGE

Addiction happens when something gains control over a person’s life, making it difficult to resist or let go. In simple terms, it means losing self-control. Today, many young people struggle with different kinds of addictions—such as excessive eating, sleeping, shopping, video games, social media, gambling, substance abuse, and other harmful habits. These addictions can slowly drain a person spiritually, emotionally, mentally, financially, and even academically.

My dear child, it is important for you to understand this truth: whatever you cannot control will eventually control you. If you are struggling with any form of addiction, do not ignore it or hide in shame. The first step toward freedom is to honestly identify the problem. After that, seek help from godly and trustworthy counsellors. Most importantly, call on the Holy Spirit for help—He is always ready to strengthen and guide you when you are willing to obey His instructions.

I pray that every chain of addiction holding you bound will be broken by the power of God, and that you will walk in true freedom, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

For our walk in this world

Oh, let the ancient words impart

Ancient words, ever true

Changing me and changing you

We have come with open hearts

Oh, let the ancient words impart

Give us strength, help us cope

In this world, where’er we roam
