BIBLE READING
Psalm 139:14
1 Corinthians 6:19–20
Psalm 139:14
“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.”
1 Corinthians 6:19–20
“Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
EXPOSITION
Many people struggle with dissatisfaction about their physical appearance and may even question God over how they look. However, the Word of God assures us in Psalm 139:14 that every individual is fearfully and wonderfully made. Our creation is not accidental but intentional—crafted by God with wisdom, care, and purpose. Rather than dwelling on perceived flaws, we are encouraged to appreciate the uniqueness and beauty God has placed within us.
Our bodies are not merely physical structures; they are sacred vessels—the temples of the Holy Spirit, as stated in 1 Corinthians 6:19–20. Speaking negatively about our bodies, neglecting our health, or abusing ourselves dishonours the God who created and redeemed us. Since God has entrusted our bodies to us, we are called to steward them responsibly by making healthy choices, maintaining discipline, and living with gratitude.
It is important to recognise that our true worth is not defined by outward appearance but by our identity in Christ. God sees us as His beloved children—precious, redeemed, and deeply valued. When we embrace this truth, we are freed from self-condemnation and comparison. Accepting and appreciating the life and body God has given us enables us to glorify Him and live in peace, knowing that we are wonderfully loved and purposefully made.
PRAYER POINTS
