EXPOSITION

God is deeply concerned about your transition from this year into the next. According to Deuteronomy 11:11–12, He watches over both the beginning and the end of every year. Your preservation to witness the end of this year is not by chance nor by personal merit—it is by God’s mercy and grace alone. Therefore, all praise belongs to Him as we prepare our hearts to step into the blessings of the coming year.

In the book of Deuteronomy, Moses prepared the children of Israel for the next phase of God’s plan as they journeyed toward the Promised Land. They were taught to be courageous, to confront and overcome opposition, and to recognize and seize new opportunities. Possessing the land was not automatic—it required obedience, diligence, and faith.

Likewise, crossing over into a new year to possess all that God has prepared demands effort, not complacency. The blessings of a land flowing with milk and honey are accessed through commitment, not laziness. We must deliberately love and serve God with our whole hearts (vv. 13, 16, 18–25) and remain willing to do what is required. Only then can we fully enjoy the best that the new year holds for us.

PRAYER POINTS

Father, I thank You for Your constant care and guidance throughout the years. Help me to wisely use every opportunity You place before me.

Lord, I yield myself completely to You. Teach me to love and serve You wholeheartedly in the coming year.

O Lord, strengthen me with diligence, courage, and determination to labour faithfully and possess my blessings in the new year.
