TOPIC: ANOINTED FOR GOOD WORKS (II)

MEMORISE

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10)

READ: John 14:12-14

[12].    "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 

[13].    And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 

[14].    If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

EXPOSITION

Jesus prophesied His followers would do the works He did and even greater (Jn. 14:12). Indeed, we are created in Christ Jesus for good works (Eph. 2:10) and we have been empowered by Him for good works (6:10), even as today is the Boxing Day. However, not many know how to activate this anointing for good works that the Bible talks about. Today, faith, confidence, a praying lifestyle, holiness, and availability are key factors to consider. The Scripture says, And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people (Acts 6:8). The early Church's members imitated the faith, confidence, and lifestyle of their leaders, the Apostles made themselves available for God's use wherever they were (cf. Acts 8:5-8). Believers in Christ today should stand for the Gospel and make it known to the principalities and powers that the Church is the salt of the earth and the light of the world (Matt. 5:13-14; Eph. 3:10-12). We have been anointed for signs and wonders, to bring sight to the spiritually blind, heal the broken-hearted, and set sinners free from their captivity of sinfulness. The power that sets us free is still unstoppably at work. Let us go out today as God's workmanship and demonstrate what God has prepared us for by walking in His proposed promise.

PRAYER POINTS 

1.    The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not fail Him in my Christian walk.

2.     I receive the divine grace for the good works I am created for, in Jesus' name.

3.     Pray for the department of Christian Education in CAC, the Director and the Staff as led by the Spirit of God.
